About Me
Relationship conflict affects us all; I am here to help guide you through your concerns and get you back on track. Whether you have past trauma resurfacing, familial obstacles, problems associated with sexuality, intimacy issues etc., I am here to listen and provide tools to help you achieve a satisfying and fulfilling future. Like many people, I grew up in an environment where emotions and struggles were seldom expressed. From an early age, I learned to internalize anxieties, problems and obstacles in my life. Now equipped with the tools to succeed, I help clients overcome a variety of barriers such as anxiety, depression, grief, and anger. In my 30 years of experience helping people around the globe, I have learned the importance of combining empathy with competence and balancing emotions with reason.
In therapy, we will examine and reframe your inner self-talk that can be so critical, even damaging to the point of creating problems in your daily life. My approach is catered to your needs, using approaches such as CBT and REBT, mindfulness and anger management. My initial role as a therapist is to guide you through unfavourable present-day situations and relationships. Secondly, we will work together on improving adverse emotions, resolving childhood concerns, communication skills, and ultimately gain a sense of your own boundless strength and power. Most often we are not aware of our potential and capacity to succeed and navigate through the challenges and pressures our society experiences today.
I am motivated and passionate about facilitating changes that will enhance your personal and interpersonal health and well-being. I have a personable and natural style, bringing evidence-based practice into our counselling sessions. My areas of specialization include but are not limited to: LGBTQ relationships, sex therapy, marriage counselling communication skills, depression, anxiety, anger management, conflict resolution, managing addictions and substance abuse, grief and loss, premarital counselling, self-discovery, acceptance, self-esteem issues, support for family units, and mediating between couples, families, and groups.
